“Heidi Sand-Hart’s “Home Keeps Moving” authenticates the TCK experience. Her personal stories demonstrate the tangible reality of the TCK theories we have been reading and hearing about for years.” – Tina L Quick, author of The Global Nomad's Guide to University Transition

"HOME"

As I sit on my roof terrace in London, Bollywood music from a neighbour's house floats in the air towards me...coated with spice and nostalgia. It brings warmth to my soul.
I cannot even bare to count the many cats I have had to give up on account of our constant moves. But life is sweet and a neighbour's cat has taken to visiting us on the terrace and accompanying us inside our home. It stretches out on our sofa, purring and content and I get that fuzzy feeling inside. I may never truly find my "home" but parts of it come to me every day in obscure and wonderful forms.

Third Culture What?

Since my forthcoming book has a lot to do with being a 'Missionary Kid' or "Third Culture Kid", I thought I'd tell you what that is (by definition). I explain in far more detail in the book...

What is a Third Culture Kid?

“A third culture kid is a person who has spent a significant part of his or her developmental years outside their parents’ culture. The third culture kid builds relationships to all the cultures, while not having full ownership in any. Although elements from each culture are assimilated into the third culture kid’s life experience, the sense of belonging is in relationship to others of the same background, other TCKs.”*

"Secret Of The Easy Yoke" by Pedro The Lion

I could hear the church bells ringing, they peeled aloud your praise. The members faces were smiling with their hands outstretched to shake. It's true they did not move me, my heart was hard and tired. Their perfect fire annoyed me, I could not find You anywhere.

Could someone please tell me the story of sinners ransomed from the fall. I still have never seen You and some days, I don't love You at all.

The devoted were wearing bracelets to remind them why they came. Some concrete motivation and the abstract could not do the same. But if all that's left is duty, I'm falling on my sword. At least then I would not serve an unseen distant Lord.

Could someone please tell me the story of sinners ransomed from the fall. I still have never seen You and some days, I don't love You at all.

If this is only a test, I hope that I'm passing 'cause I'm losing steam. I still want to trust you. Peace, be still. Peace, be still. Peace, be still. Peace, be still
